From Celtic this time! glan, “clean, pure.” There were shenanigans to get it from Celtic to English that I can’t figure out how to summarize.
Daughter at 5 Years
Yesterday while waiting in line for food, I was trying to entertain her to keep her from being fussy, and this involved me trying to boop her nose. She covered her face, so I poked her belly, which made her squeal… maybe a little too loudly, so I said, “Okay, okay, no poking.” And offered her a hug. When she stepped into my arms, I rested my face on her hair and then… said, “Om nom nom,” and mimed chewing on her head.
“MOMMY,” she said. “NO BITING!”
“Not even a little?” I said.
“NO!” she said.
“How about just nibbling,” I said. “No biting. Just little nibbles.”
“NooOOOoo!” she said. “Don’t EAT me!”
“But I’m so hunnnngry!” I said, pouting.
“Do you want to see me every day?” she asked, hands on her hips.
“Yes?” I offered.
“If you EAT me,” she said. “You won’t be able to see me every day! Because I’ll be in your stomach!”
“But then,” I said, beaming, “you’ll always be a part of me!”
“Yes,” she said. “But from the INSIDE. Where you can’t see me!”
“Oh, all right,” I said. “I do want to see you every day, so I won’t eat you.”
“Good,” she said, and hugged me.
“OM NOM NOM,” I said.
“MOOOOMMMMMMY!” And then she hugged me again and said, “I love you Mommy.”
“I love you too,” I said. And noticed that the people in front of and behind us in line were all watching us and grinning.

Creative News/Plans
Still working through Jokka Book 3 (133 pages and going!). But I’m also messing more with the Ai-Naidari language stuff. I might try to put together all the things I’m sure I know soon about the grammar. I did the official launch post for Black Blossom too since I noticed it irritates me when I fail to have a post I can point people to that has links to all the editions.
Oh! And tomorrow is the free Earthrise episode, plus we’re only $3 short of Thursday’s paid.
