Daughter at 5 Years
Wednesday we went to church to light a candle for my grandfather. Child came with us, all fidgety as you can imagine… she asked me as we got out of the car if she could take her latest whim with her, a stuffed animal snake, and I said, “No,” which made her peevish.
So we went and lit candles and then walked around the church quietly while she fidgeted and fought her sulk. When we got back to the car, I buckled her and and gave her back the snake.
“Why couldn’t I take Snakey with me into church?” she asked.
“Because this is a toy,” I said.
“But I like him so MUCH!” she said as my mother got into the car alongside her.
“I know, but it’s not respectful to bring toys into church.” I eyed it and added, “And that goes double for toys that look like snakes…!”
And then she wanted to know why my mom started laughing, and we distracted her with news of forthcoming lunch options. Mommy is not ready for that discussion yet. -_-
Creative News/Plans
This is the first day I am working at the new computer! And discovering as I go all the things I’m missing. Whee!
Anyway, comic is up (as you see), Earthrise is scheduled for tomorrow. Sunday we rest, or at least virtual-me-in-the-computer does (most of this scheduled content really is scheduled; I do the whole week at once and it auto-posts).
Yesterday I started work on another Jahir & Vasiht’h story. Over the weekend I am going to try messing with the podcast recording or a livestream, and get back to work on the Guidebook. But there’s a lot of Stuff going on here so I haven’t had as much time for work as I’d like.
